Bad Hotel Service

It is so hard to get a hotel reservation in Japan currently as there are having sanrenkyuu 三連休. After some searching, I finally booked a hotel, but I am quite surprised and at the same time disappointed with the hotel's services.

I was living in InterContinental Yokohama The Grand and though my stay was only a day, but I have encountered a few problems with their services.

#1 After checking in my room, there wasn't really anyone that lead me to the room or help me with my luggage. The bellboy who has lead me to the counter is no where to be seen.

#2 Their wireless internet services. The connections breaks off after a few minutes of connection and I thought I have used the wrong internet settings and and asked for a hotel staff for assistance. The room service said that someone will be coming over to help me with the problem, but after waiting for nearly 15-20 minutes, no one came. I phoned them again and it seems that they did not really send someone over...

Finally, one staff came over and mingled with the settings, for almost 45 minutes and in the end, he told me very sorry but he could not solve the problem and if I were to used the Internet, I would need to go to their business center. Great ... after spending 1 hour of waiting...

#3 I left my luggage with the service counter as I thought I might be leaving the hotel premises for a while before coming back for it. After thinking for a while, I decided to check in at the other hotel, which I already had reservations. I present the receipt to the bellboy, he says that my luggage will arrive soon. I left my luggage on the lobby and I was just one floor away, but they took me 15 minutes ?

I felt that their room rates does not justify to the services they are providing. There are many other hotels nearby providing better services and cheaper prices, perhaps I made an wrong choice this time round.

Asahi Canned Coffee series

Maybe to most of you, Asahi stands out as a branding for Japanese beer. But not only in that case, they are also actively with beverages in Japan as well. Another fact which you might not know about is they do have their Asahi Shimbun (Newspaper) as well.

I am not quite an alcoholic drinker and most of the time I would take their coffee instead. I would not say that they are providing the best canned coffee in the world, but perhaps they do have a series of nice coffee as well.

Below are just some photos which I have kept for myself on the canned coffee.

South Korea's ' Actress' found dead

Choi Jin-sil, also know as South Korea's Nation Actress was found committed suicide, hanging herself in the bathroom of her Seoul home. It was speculated that she was facing depression since 2004 after her divorce with Japanese's Yomiuri Giants baseball star Cho Sung-min.

There are also rumors that she had lent money to actor and longtime friend Ahn Jae-hwan, who was also found dead in his car in early September this year and that Ahn killed himself after Choi pressured him to repay the debt.

This was not the only committed suicide I have heard on South Korea's entertainment world. It seems that most of them are unable to overcome their stress barrier and leading to their suicides. Understanding that most of us are just audience which has been watching these people as like an entertainment, including gossips of their lifes. Give them a break ! Some of them are just stress enough to balance their family and work, why do some of those still wanted to exert more pressure on them ?

Today is an another day

Another ordinary day has passed, and I have been counting down the days that I am in Japan at the moment. Almost coming to an end as everyone in the school is doing prep for their Univerisities while I am the only one that is preparing for going back to Singapore.

But it is also at the same time that I realise my mood for fooling around in Japan has been getting shorter and it is time that I should move on to another world - back to the working world which I used to be in.

Too lazy recently

Just felt too tired recently to work out all of my blogs at the moment. Suddenly, I felt that there is a need that I go out there and face the new world - earn some monies. I have been working part time continuously these days that I can't even remember when was the last time I actually sit down quietly to read a nice book and take a sip of coffee... Life , getting tougher eh ?
